Summer outlook: water drops steadily through summer but fishing stays good, best early and late. Fly anglers can try size 14 to 16 bead-head nymphs and midges, leeches under an indicator, or streamers and mouse flies near the inlet or dam cove. Kastmasters, Dardevil, Krocodile and Needlefish spoons, marabou jigs and Rapalas work too.
Many cutthroat streams are closed to protect spawners from May 15 until 6 a.m. on July's second Saturday.
